Daily Routines

Daily Routines
Where possible all teachers will be available to speak to parents and carers after school as per the school’s ‘Open Door’ policy.
Morning Activities: 8:40 - 9:00am
Each morning a range of activities will be set up such as spelling, mental maths, phonics, reading and home learning reviews.
Reading Books
This term we will be continuing to motivate children to read at home. The expectation is for your child to read at least three times per week and this will with recorded by the class teacher. Your child's aim is to be a superstar reader -  Let's see how by working together we can ensure that your child makes the progress they deserve.

In Year three we rely on the children to place their reading books in the basket in order for them to be changed.  If your child has read, can you ensure that a comment is added into the record book, children can begin to write their own comments but we do request that an adult should put at least 2 comments in their book over the course of the week.  For those reading at length, a page number will be sufficient.
It is very important for children to bring their book bags to school every day. It is a safe way of bringing home learning folders, reading books and letters to and from school.
Your child has been provided with a homework diary, book, homework book, spelling book and bookmark. Please take good care of these items as any lost items will need to be replaced at your cost.

Home Learning

Each half term your child will be given a new home learning menu linked to the new topic and class text. There are lots of ideas on there but they are only suggestions. if you or your child have some other ideas we would love to see them. We ask that your child completes one activity a week which is due in on a Friday.
