The Government has implemented a new legislation which will come into force in September 2013, which state that schools will no longer be allowed to authorise any holiday requests during term time except for those who have proved that there are exceptional circumstances.
As from September Fixed Penalty Notices will be issued by the Local Authority for pupils who are taken out of school during term time without prior authorisation from the Headteacher.
Please note that a separate Fixed Penalty Notice will be issued to each parent for each child and all monies are payable to the Local Authority.
Can I please stress the importance of not booking a holiday prior to authorisation from the school; we obviously have to follow the new procedures.
